What is the deal with portable toilets?
The thing we don't really want to talk about... but I'm going to
Our van came with a portable toilet. It can really come in handy when you aren't close to a toilet block. You have to have a strict rule that there is no going to the toilet in the van because I am sure that once you that this rule goes that will be it. It could ruin a relationship or a friendship because somethings just smell too bad and this is one of them. We have a outdoor tent that we use. It is awesome and you can light it up in cool ways to make it feel fun. This tent also doubles as a shower tent so it has a double purpose (which is always a big bonus when living a van life). It is important to make sure that you have a good chemical spray that smells nice, there is this pink spray that you can get from most camping stores like BCF or ANACONDA that is great to spray before you go as it stops things from going mouldy and helps it all slide in ok. Gross right. There is some green stuff that you put in the actual tank itself that helps it not smell too. If you have these two covered you should be ok. It is a real luxury to have a toilet near your van and it can be a nice present experience if you work it right.
I would love to hear if anyone else has cool information on this so I can share it on the blog. Please leave a comment below so we can make this the best post on this topic.
